Born simultaneously in three compass points of the planet (Argentina, Canada and France), this duo weaves a special resounding universe by connecting its folkloric roots, pop culture and academic knowledge - in order to see the colours of diversity bloom.During the year 2020, driven by the lockdown brought by the global health crisis, Les Manivelles recorded a series of demo songs. That quite playful act paved the way for them to record their first album - Tiám - during the first half of 2021. It relies on the collaboration of more than thirty musicians, and is inspired by very different genres (chanson française, argentinian folklore, world music, reggae…) that account for its interpreters’ wide curiosity for the aesthetics. The album embraces eleven songs, and was launched on the 6th of November 2021 in a digital format that you’ll find on this website along with Màit, a music film inviting you to explore a visual parallel universe dedicated to daydreaming and imagination.
Les Manivelles are currently launching the presentation of Tiám in a series of live shows, while also cooking their second album: Ikiaika.
